About Me
I'm a an Interaction Designer about that has just graduated with a Bachelor of Science Honours in Interaction Design this April 2009 from Simon Fraser University's (SFU) "School of Interactive Arts and Technology (SIAT).I currently reside in Vancouver, British Columbia.
I have so much passion for this field of study and one of my goals is to be able to contribute positively through my work, and I believe design can do that.
Interaction design is a very diverse and multidisciplinary field,
that includes everything from spatial design, human
factors, cognitive science, communication design, usability, user interfaces,
brand studies and the list can go on.
The Interaction Design program at SFU highly
stresses team work and applied skills, and so I am able to work in
teams spanning timelines for 1 week to 4+ months. Throughout my studies and industry experience
I haved learned to research and see the underlying concepts and analyze
a variety of design situations and contexts. This allows me to see
design opportunities and come up with design interventions, starting
from idea to design process and iterations to final form
designs (3D, illustrations, scenarios, prototypes).
Please take a look
at my projects to see what I've been doing and to learn about the broad
background, skills and knowledge I've gained throughout my years
studying and practicing interaction design.
I have completed an 8-month co-op work experience with Business Objects in Vancouver as an Interaction Designer on their User Experience Team in 2007. After that I went straight into a 7-month internship with the design consultancy IDEO as an Interaction Designer in 2008. I worked in their head office location in Palo Alto, California.
